There will come a day when you will look at your child and the thing you will wish for most will be for them to see themselves through your eyes and your heart. The way you see them.

The future is now for me. What I wouldn't give for the chance to go back in time and create beautiful, meaningful, artful portraits of each one of my babies right from the very beginning. To have them hanging on the walls of our home, and printed in beautiful albums that we can hold together as we sit side-by-side reminiscing, to have them communicate all the emotions that sometimes seem too big for words...

This is why I fell in love with newborn portraiture: Because it touched my heart, my soul, in a place I didn't even know was there.

 

Because I didn't know what it was that I was missing, that our family was missing, until I saw it. And once I did, I couldn't unsee it.

So. Use your cell phone camera daily. Take snapshots as frequently as you can. Capture and savor those day-to-day beautifully ordinary moments.
